CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING

THEMES

The consortium stakeholders’ responses to the Survey yielded valuable insight for LP&M.
After reviewing the data, we boiled it down to some key takeaways:

  • Awareness is low so let’s RAISE IT across all audiences
  • It’s all about Education – educating your team about CPL, educating prospective candidates
  • Create a clear path for conversion – guide potential students to the information they need

With these thoughts in mind, we’ve landed on 3 thematic approaches:

theme 1

give yourself
some credit

This theme takes a celebratory, aspirational, “you-deserve-acknowledgement” approach, inviting prospects to give themselves credit… which paves the way for messaging to explain that your college is offering to give them credit, too.

Healthcare is a lot of hard work – often for little financial reward. Especially when you don’t have a college degree. That’s where our Credit for Prior Learning program can help.

Tell us about your work experience and life learnings, and we’ll work with you to see if they can be converted into college credits you can apply to one of the following healthcare programs: (course listings here).

So, give yourself some credit and get to the next level of your career.

theme 2

credit where
credit is due

Taking a slightly different angle from option #1, this theme plays off the idea that CPL is a powerful opportunity to get the credit one deserves – in the form of literal college “credits.”

Go ahead, pat yourself on the back.

You do a lot for this community, and we think you’re due some credit…

College credit for what you do and learn every day on the job.

Credit you can apply to one of the following healthcare programs: (course listings here).

Theme 3

a degree
of caring

This thematic platform simultaneously references the prospect of a college degree while acknowledging the high level of caring required in health-related fields. It positions CPL as both the pat on the back they want and the career opportunity they need.

NYS wants healthcare workers with the highest degree of dedication and experience.

And that means you.

You can do the job, but maybe you think you don’t have the time or money to earn a college degree in healthcare?

Don’t give up. We can help turn your valuable work experience into college credits.

thematic
lockups

Branding the entire campaign with a single thematic lockup creates a sense of statewide continuity. While each will be individually customized, the consistent treatment unifies all 11 partner colleges.

It may be used anywhere and everywhere for promoting CPL. Applications could include the obvious – website, social posts, on-campus printed materials – as well as tablecloths/banners for job fairs, backdrops for press events, podium signs and much more.
